Discover #1 New York Times-bestselling Patrick Rothfuss' epic fantasy series, The Kingkiller Chronicle.
"I just love the world of Patrick Rothfuss." --Lin-Manuel Miranda OVER 1 MILLION COPIES SOLD!
DAY ONE: THE NAME OF THE WIND My name is Kvothe.
I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep.
You may have heard of me. So begins a tale unequaled in fantasy literature--the story of a hero told in his own voice. It is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Such a good book
Definitely a welcomed book during lockdown - a fantasy to escape the doldrums of the everyday and take me to another world.
Like all good fantasies this is an epic, an odyssey. A well crafted world with rich characters and a capturing tale. I would give it 3.5 if I could. I can’t necessarily fault it on anything in particular and I will read others in the series. I guess by itself it can probably feel complete and it took 3/4 of the book to get into the meat of the story but that’s what happens when you’re creating a new world I guess.

I randomly started this series with The Slow Regard of Silent Things and loved it for its quiet beauty and mystery. Then I also really enjoyed this one, which is more of an epic fantasy history. Good well-written story, complicated characters, and not too much war and politics (yet, anyway). I'm happy to find such a pithy fantasy series that's all new to me.
