We didn't set out to build a company. We set out to fix our book club.

In 2011, Anna moved to Philadelphia and started a book club to meet new people (including Zoë). It grew fast — and so did the chaos: endless text chains, forgotten RSVPs, impossible scheduling. Anna's then-boyfriend (now husband!) coded her a website, and Bookclubs was born.

Today, Anna and Zoë have built Bookclubs into the everything app they always wished they had — organized logistics, personal reading tracking, and curated recommendations. All in one place. Independent, women-owned, and built by people who actually run book clubs.
