It Ends with Us: Special Collector's Edition: A Novel (It Ends with Us)

A special hardcover collector's edition of It Ends with Us, featuring an exclusive Q&A between Colleen Hoover and her mother, a beautiful foil cover, and newly designed endpapers--from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and soon to be a major motion picture starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Lily hasn't always had it easy, but that's never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She's come a long way from the small town where she grew up--she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily's life seems too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He's also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn't hurt. Lily can't get him out of her head. But Ryle's complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his "no dating" rule, she can't help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan--her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

An honest, evocative, and tender novel, It Ends with Us is "a glorious and touching read, a forever keeper. The kind of book that gets handed down" (USA TODAY).

For some reason I thought this would be more than a typical romance novel and reminded me of a Hallmark movie. Lily seemed like a pretty one dimensional character and who grows vegetables and automatically knows how to create professional floral arrangements? I also felt like it had an air of 50 Shades of Gray in some parts. Additionally, what girl keeps her old boyfriend's gifts on the fridge and old diaries around when you have a jealous husband. To me, that made no sense at all.

3/5 ⭐️ I liked it, but it definitely fell short. I think there’s too much hype surrounding this book because my expectations were very high and the book didn’t live up to them. I didn’t sob like everyone suggested—I shed 2 tears and it wasn’t for either of the romances. The “resolution” came in a 6 page epilogue that was pretty unfulfilling. How do you resolve a book in 6 pages??

Not a fan at all. It was all too real-life for me. There were definitely parts I liked but overall I was really disappointed. I wouldn't call this an HEA at all, it was more of a happy ending if that. The end felt like the setup for a duet and left me wanting for more of a concrete HEA and a better glimpse into the mmc and fmc's relationship after getting back together.
