A great idea for a plot, but felt like one giant physics lesson. A fun read at times.

Content warning for cataclysmic destruction, violence, state-sponsored violence, abuse, kidnapping, and related topics. I was really interested in the premise of this novel. It's maybe the most sciency-science fiction novel I've ever read. I won't pretend that I understood any of the astrophysics, but I got the overall premise. I didn't really like any of the characters, it didn't feel like they were the priority in this novel. I don't know if I'll be reading the next one in the series, but it was interesting.

The book is brilliant because of the thought that went into it. I found it to be very "sterile" - without emotion or feeling. Plus, I still have NO idea what I just read; it must be above my intelligence.

I wanted so much to love this book but it never gave you a clue. For the majority you were in the dark about, well what the books was about.
