Stealing Snow combines aspects of Sleeping Beauty with others from Snow White and The Seven Dwarves to create the enchanted world of Algid. Snow has spent most of her seventeen years of life locked in a psychiatric institute. When she finally manages to breakout in search of her missing friend Bale, she finds herself transported to icy Algid with its witches, thieves, and strange boys she's not sure she can trust. I love Danielle Paige. The Dorthy Must Die series remains one of my most recommended YA series for people who like fairytale retellings. I still have really mixed feelings about this one. On the one tentacle (makes sense when you read) I love the underlying hints of danger. On the other tentacle it just moved so, very, slow. I was on page 195 before I felt like things kicked into gear.
