Screwtape Letters: Annotated Edition, The

The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis is a classic masterpiece of religious satire that entertains readers with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below." At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation--and triumph over it--ever written.

I read this book in high school in Honors English and read it again as one of our book club books. I enjoy this book as it gives a very eye opening perspective on the works of good and evil in your life. To reread this book and understand this was written around the time of World War II and to hear the things the demon is trying to get the human involved in shows that the world really has not changed at all. Same problems and misunderstandings, just a different time. And shows that evil is always present and trying to pull you away from what is right.
