Reel was an interesting read. It gave me all the feels. It was a heartwarming slow burn that highlighted the compassion of a man who'd fell in love with a woman walking through life having experienced heart-break and enduring some of the most challenging circumstances.
Okay, I thought I knew what it meant to not be able to put a book down before, but trust me when I say I know it now! I, literally, did not put it down once I started reading. 11 hours later, I've finished and I'm left wanting to fall in love.
The only thing that stopped this from being a 10 was the fact that I feel like there so much more of the story to be told. It doesn't feel.... wrapped enough. I get wanting to leave readers wanting more and this isn't exactly a cliffhanger, but I think we could've been taken to the end of them filming the movie at least.
Regardless, I truly enjoyed this read. It was everything people hyped it up to be.
Great story telling but it did drag on after a while. Loved the history and the moments Kennedy Ryan took to point out racial injustices. And everything about Canon was top tier. Wish there had been something in the epilogue about the reception of the film. Without that, it felt like the book was missing something.
This book was everything. Definitely need a part 2. Kennedy Ryan does not fail.
Beautiful & moving story about love, perseverance, artistic determination & history....perfect all around
