From the author of Maybe in Another Life--named a People Magazine pick--comes a breathtaking new love story about a woman unexpectedly forced to choose between the husband she has long thought dead and the fiancé who has finally brought her back to life.

In her twenties, Emma Blair marries her high school sweetheart, Jesse. They build a life for themselves, far away from the expectations of their parents and the people of their hometown in Massachusetts. They travel the world together, living life to the fullest and seizing every opportunity for adventure.

On their first wedding anniversary, Jesse is on a helicopter over the Pacific when it goes missing. Just like that, Jesse is gone forever.

Emma quits her job and moves home in an effort to put her life back together. Years later, now in her thirties, Emma runs into an old friend, Sam, and finds herself falling in love again. When Emma and Sam get engaged, it feels like Emma's second chance at happiness.

That is, until Jesse is found. He's alive, and he's been trying all these years to come home to her. With a husband and a fiancé, Emma has to now figure out who she is and what she wants, while trying to protect the ones she loves.

Who is her one true love? What does it mean to love truly?

Emma knows she has to listen to her heart. She's just not sure what it's saying.

Alright, let’s talk about “One True Loves” by Taylor Jenkins because this book seriously had me hooked from the first page. As a 25-year-old who’s experienced the complexities of love and the journey of self-discovery, I found myself relating to both Emma and Jesse’s relationship and Emma’s connection with Sam on a deeply personal level. The story revolves around Emma Blair, who thought she had it all figured out with Jesse, her high school sweetheart. But when Jesse goes missing in a helicopter crash, Emma’s world comes crashing down. The way Jenkins portrays Emma’s pain and confusion is so real and raw that it tugged at my heartstrings. I could feel her struggle to move on and find herself again. Enter Sam, the long-lost friend who steps into Emma’s life and reignites a spark within her. I found myself captivated by the complexities of Emma’s connection with Sam, torn between her past and the possibility of a new love. It made me question what it means to truly love someone and whether we can have more than one “true love” in our lives. Jenkins’ writing style is incredibly engaging and relatable. The emotions in this book are so vividly portrayed that it felt like I was right there with the characters, experiencing every high and low. The author doesn’t shy away from the messiness of relationships and the difficult choices we face, which made the story feel authentic and relatable. The characters in “One True Loves” are beautifully developed and multi-dimensional. Emma, Jesse, and Sam all have their own flaws and complexities that make them relatable and human. I found myself empathizing with each of them, understanding their motivations, and getting emotionally invested in their journeys. It was like experiencing a whirlwind of emotions alongside them. This book touched on themes that hit close to home for me as a young adult. It explores the challenges of navigating love, loss, and self-discovery at a time when we’re still figuring ourselves out. It made me reflect on my own relationships, past and present, and the choices I’ve made along the way. In conclusion, “One True Loves” is an exceptional read that will resonate with 20-somethings and anyone who has experienced the complexities of love and self-discovery. Taylor Jenkins’ storytelling is captivating, her characters are relatable, and the emotional depth of the book is truly remarkable. Prepare to be swept away by this powerful tale of love, loss, and finding oneself.

Main character is insufferable. She should’ve tried harder for her marriage. Completely unrealistic ending. Jesse wouldn’t just allow her to move on that quickly.
