So many feelings! The start, the ending, the middle.
This book was so slow, even for SJM it was a crawl. It gave me GOT vibes in that sense, with all the different characters and story lines, as well as races and houses. I was confused at first about everything, and I liked nothing.
Then I realized SJM invented a brand new world with new concepts from scratch, a world mixed with fantasy and modern day technology. It flowed so well together, all of it. I love Bryce Quinlan, she's become one of my top heroines from SJM.
What I wished this book had? That it was shorter, much shorter. Also, it's lacking in some of her good ol' smut. Wheres the SMUT? That's what I'm here for too!
Overall I can't wait to read the sequel, though I'm not excited over how big it is. SJM please go back to shorter stories! It feels like they have less filler and more action.
Otherwise, good! Loved it.

Great fantastical read!
Reading this one after watching the series and still a page-turner. What a fantastic world of magic Clarke has built!

I always love a clever magic system and some ancient magic going on. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, despite it's plain name (depending on your view), is a really captivating read. I will admit, there's not as much character development as in some other books, but the story is good, the magic Clarke comes up with is clever, and it's easily worth a read and maybe even a re-read.
