A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, 1)

The sexy, action-packed first book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series from Sarah J. Maas.
When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world. At least, he's not a beast all the time. As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin-and his world-forever. From bestselling author Sarah J. Maas comes a seductive, breathtaking book that blends romance, adventure, and faerie lore into an unforgettable read.BUY THE BOOK

I’m mad at myself because I collected the whole series and it sat there on my shelf looking pretty for nearly a year…why I waited so long to read this series, couldn’t tell you. But I was entrapped by the first chapter. The world building is absolutely beautiful and the plot…need I say I’ve gasped like a high school girl several times! Rhysand you sneaky devil you’ve captured my attention🥴
Quote 🗨️ : "You were always too good for here, Feyre. Too good for us, too good for everyone."
“Stay with the High Lord, the Suriel has said. Stay with him, fall in love with him, and all would be righted.”
“There are those who seek me a lifetime but never we meet, And those I kiss but who trample me beneath ungrateful feet. At times I seem to favor the clever and the fair, But I bless all those who are brave enough to dare. By large, my ministrations are soft-handed and sweet, but scorned, I become a difficult beast to defeat. For though each of my strikes lends a powerful blow, When I kiss, I do it slow.”
"Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don't feel anything at all."
“I understood what had driven her - a very small part of her, but I understood it.”
Liked ✅
- Descriptive text was perfect
- Trials and tribulations thought this book were crazy
- Chapter 44 brought tears to my eyes
- The book ended beautifully, while wanting more
- Pronunciation list was AWESOME
Didn't Like ❌
- Found the beginning a bit slow then ebbed and flowed throughout
- It felt a bit long, or I was distracted while reading.
This book was good, but it was really slow to get into and I feel like the action did not pick up until the last 10 or so chapters so just be prepared going into that. If you can get past the first book, the second one is so worth wild in my opinion.
I haven't been this submerged into a books world since twilight or vampire diaries... beyond good. 10/10
This book took me a long time to get into but once I got past the romance parts and hit those last 100 pages I literally flies through this book. The writing was sooo good. I just am not invested in Tamlin or Rhysand at all tbh
