Had a hard time getting into the book but the twist at the end had me reeling. A really good book overall.

I wanted to love this, but there were too many red herrings that didn't actually fool you, and unimportant tangents. By the end of the book I was just tired.

I listed to the audio book and it was awesome! I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this book. Just when you think you’ve got it, nope! I also enjoyed that I found myself frustrated with the protagonist at times, for me it make it more realistic. Good read!

This was a solid debut novel! The pace of the story moved quickly and it was engrossing from start to finish. I definitely felt uncomfortable with certain turns in the story (as intended—well written). There were moments of great suspense and uncertainty, as well as moments of eloquence. I was really off-put by one of the leads pursued in the case, as far as what that would mean for the main character (how much trauma can one human handle??), but I felt the final twist and resolution brought it all together in the end. Thank you for an interesting read, Stacy Willingham! I do agree this story would translate well onscreen, too…!
(I did notice a typo of “breathe” spelled as “breath” in one of the final chapters.)
