I've had Whisper to Me sitting on my kindle for over a year now - initially skipping it because I didn't realize it was a series when requesting. I was bummed, because there is so much love for Christina's books and I wanted to read this SO bad. It wasn't until months later that I found out these could all be read as a standalone. Shortly after, I added it to my reading schedule and dove right in.
Friends to lovers is one romance troupe that is hard for me to love - because I never get the connection as friends before things start to develop into more. In Whisper to Me, I got it. Rachel and Kai are just so GOOD together. Their attraction, desire and love for each other was so deep, so real, that my heart just swelled. If there is one thing to know about me- it's that I am not a swooner, and I was definitely swooning in Whisper to Me.
I loved that we get both Kai's and Rachel's POV. We get an up close and personal look at both of their struggles with their fears and love for each other - and why things are the way things are. What kept me from 5 stars was the lack of communication of said fears and feelings. It took FOREVER. So much pain could have been avoided if they would have just TALKED.
I just loved this book. Their story pops into my head often and always has me smiling. I highly recommend Whisper to Me, even if you haven't read the first 2 books. GET IT.
