Somnophilia of sleep (a paraphilia in which an individual becomes sexually aroused by someone who is unconscious, as defined in this book) is a theme that is becoming more prominent in books. And I of course was interested in this since the title itself had some promise of it. Or so I thought.
⚠️: kidnapping, stalking, one scene of chase play, breath play
The blurb was interesting - a retelling of Sleeping Beauty in a twisted way with the man having stalker-ish vibes, like doesn't it call out to you? But the book did more telling than showing, unfortunately.
I liked that both Vera and Logan were into the same fantasies because similarities would help them to build their relationship faster. They met each other on a website for people with different kinks/fantasies and connected, I liked the initial banter between them. But all of this was short lived.
It was a lot of "I wish" instead of "I'll do it". By the time some action actually showed up it was half way through the book, which was a little too late to make up for the low rating. I also felt like there was discrepancies in the plot because some of the events were told as something in a previous chapter and then told as another in the next chapter, I was confused on what am I supposed to follow. In comparison to Vera, Logan seemed a little immature to me because it was the same theme of "I'm broken, I'm not good for you" for 80% of the book. Even when Vera was ready to move forward with Logan, he always took his space and left her alone especially when communication was needed. I felt like he was slowing down the pace of their relationship development because he was really hesitant to move forward. Vera definitely wore the pants in their relationship
