When Women Were Dragons: A Novel
The first adult novel by the Newbery award-winning author of The Girl Who Drank the Moon is a rollicking feminist tale set in 1950s America where thousands of women have spontaneously transformed into dragons, exploding notions of a woman’s place in the world and expanding minds about accepting others for who they really are.

My book club chose this as their monthly reading. I tried and tried my best to enjoy it. It wasn’t until chapter 23 that I did.
I felt the writer used a lot of repetitive words, and could have chosen a better way to finish off the sentence. Was my first fantasy and it just didn’t hit home for me.
This was the author’s first adult fiction, and you can tell.
