While i enjoyed the cases in this book and Paul’s intrigue and love of all things forensics, he doesn’t seem like a very good guy. He was very neglectful to his wife and kids and only cared about work. He got whiny when no one else wanted to talk about all the gruesome details with him. Yes his work is important and its important to get justice for the victims and their families, He just seems very selfish and self absorbed. (Sorry, its just my opinion.) All the cases he worked on were very interesting and he was even able to solve a few cold cases in his career which is amazing! Poor Conaty had just lost his mom and then his partner Giacomelli not long after. Poor Giacomelli was ambushed and never stood a chance. That part was heartbreaking. Then of course there is the appearance of the amazing Michelle McNamara! So, overall this is a very good read! Good end to my 2022 Reads.

I read this book in two sittings. I couldn't put it down. I'm now in love with Paul Holes and want to run away with him to a deserted island. Read this book!!!! He is the one who cracked the GSK case.
