Thunderhead (2) (Arc of a Scythe)

"Intelligent and entertaining." --Kirkus Reviews (starred review) "Even better than the first book." --School Library Journal (starred review) Rowan and Citra take opposite stances on the morality of the Scythedom, putting them at odds, in the chilling sequel to the Printz Honor Book Scythe from New York Times bestseller Neal Shusterman, author of the Unwind dystology. Humans learn from their mistakes. I cannot. I make no mistakes. The Thunderhead is the perfect ruler of a perfect world, but it has no control over the scythedom. A year has passed since Rowan had gone off grid. Since then, he has become an urban legend, a vigilante snuffing out corrupt scythes in a trial by fire. His story is told in whispers across the continent. As Scythe Anastasia, Citra gleans with compassion and openly challenges the ideals of the "new order." But when her life is threatened and her methods questioned, it becomes clear that not everyone is open to the change. Old foes and new enemies converge, and as corruption within the Scythedom spreads, Rowan and Citra begin to lose hope. Will the Thunderhead intervene? Or will it simply watch as this perfect world begins to unravel?

Oh she ate. This was actually soooo ducking good. Like the ending was even better than the ending of the first book and that one was pretty hard to top. Adding greyson and the thunderhead as main characters in this book added so much to the overall enjoyment. I literally can’t wait to get to the third book in the trilogy.
This is a phenomenal addition to the Scythe universe and an amazing look at what humanity is and our purpose. I cussed, I cried, I screamed. I can't wait to read the final installation of this trilogy and I can't think of anyone who shouldn't also read this book, this trilogy.
And yes, I love the relationship between Citra Terranova (Scythe Anastasia) and Rowan Damisch (Sythe Lucifer) I truly love who they are as people and who they want to be as influences on the world. I believe that this is the closest to pure love that I could conceptualize because they love each other as people before they love each other as people as well as romantic partners.

Wow... I was not expecting that ending. Just when you think everything is going to go a certain way, Shusterman figures out a way to shock you. I think this was even better than the first book. I can't wait to get my hands on the final book. The ending left me heartbroken and nearly in tears.
I seriously can't get enough of this story. The ending to this book will leave you speechless. Neal Shusterman is seriously the master of cliffhangers in this second installment. I just wish I didn't have to wait so long for the next one.
