In the vein of The Time Traveler's Wife and Life After Life, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is New York Times bestselling author V. E. Schwab's genre-defying tour de force.

A Life No One Will Remember. A Story You Will Never Forget.

France, 1714: in a moment of desperation, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever--and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets.

Thus begins the extraordinary life of Addie LaRue, and a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world.

But everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name.

Beautiful book. It's a big read but worth it. Lots to think about with this one.

WOW, I absolutely flew through The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. This is truly a gem of a book. I loved the time/place hopping between 1700’s France and 2000’s New York City, and the concept of no one ever remembering you as you age through the centuries is so scary! When you meet Henry, I grew just as giddy as Addie and found their romance fantastically charming. This might just be one of my favorite books of all time- it’s definitely one of the best books I’ve read in years! I’m still tearing up just thinking about this book.

I was hooked from the synopsis. And I stayed hooked. This story was brilliantly told. Each time I thought I knew what was going to happen, the pages curved and took me in a new direction. I adored Henry and Addie together and their relationship was adorable and innocent and wonderful and I found it an excellent contrast to the past events and relationships in Addies life. I’m a huge enemies to lovers fan, but for once I found myself rooting for the genuine, as-close-to-love-at-first-sight-as-you-can-get relationship portrayed. Oh. And I cried. So hard. For the last couple chapters.

Excellent story, believable characters, exciting twists and turns, and full of emotion throughout. I loved that the villain seemed to grow as the story progressed. I feel that often the villain stays fairly constant in their emotions and goals but that was not the case in this book. There was so much character growth on all fronts, but none of it felt rushed. The pacing was thought out, and it kept you on your toes as you read. I’m a notorious “guesser of endings” and I kept thinking I knew what was going to happen but was continuously proven wrong.

I definitely recommend this book to everyone, especially those who like a good romance like the Notebook or a Walk to Remember with some devilish deals mixed in.
