The Inmate: A gripping psychological thriller

Great thriller!! Love the twists!

I spent the whole book thinking "the big twist better not be what I think it is, because that is WAY too obvious". I wasn't upset with the ending, and the "twist" wasn't exactly what I thought so I'm not going to label it as lazy writing. But the fact that I spent 80% of the book worried that the ending was going to be stupid isn't a great sign for the book as a whole. I enjoyed the story, but I was not caught up in it. I was keenly aware that I was reading a thriller, and so I expected every "jumpscare and twist" even if I didn't know exactly what they were going to be. This may be a genre issue instead of a book issue because I've never read horror/thriller before. But for me at least, it was too trope-y to be fully immersive.

I loved this. Kept me guessing right until the end. 10/10

Brooke was lost the whole time, her 10 year old acted as if he’s 5.. which annoyed me mega😖 the book was super fast paced and easy to read but the ending was too much, please write an alternate ending that makes sense
