The Dragon's Bride (A Deal With A Demon)

Briar Rose might have a name out of a storybook, but she learned at a very young age that no prince was coming to save her. She'll have to save herself. Unfortunately, even that is an impossible task in her current situation-trapped in a terrifying marriage to a dangerous man.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, which is how she finds herself making a deal with a demon. Freedom from her husband...in return for seven years of service.

She expects the service to be backbreaking and harsh. She doesn't expect to be put on an auction block in a room full of literal monsters and sold to the highest bidder.

To Sol.

A dragon.

He might seem kinder than his fearsome looks imply, but she knows better than to trust the way he wants to take care of her, or how invested he is in her pleasure. In her experience, if something seems too good to be true, it certainly is.

Falling for Sol is out of the question. She's suffered enough, and she has no intention of staying in this realm...even if she leaves her heart behind when she returns to her normal life.

Monster romance is a whole new world to me, to be honest, whole new exciting world I just discovered like two years ago. So, where to start? First of all, the cover!?! I just adore the way it makes you feel like you are holding some historic romance, only with a little twist.. dragon there. Heh, I just find it funny, okay? Don't judge me. But, to the book, I was quite surprised how much I enjoyed this. Sol is a lovely, sweet and loving monster that (in some way) everyone would welcome in their life. On the other hand, his story is in my opinion very poorly written. Same goes to Briar, who is main character of this book. The whole thing with her past and Sol's reason why he wants ordinary human instead of dragon like him.. It could use some more pages, not gonna lie. Another thing that is, in my opinion really underestimated is actually the whole universe of those books. It shows us quite interesting universe but with almost no proper explanation of how it works there. (Maybe in next books of the series? Let's hope!) Otherwise, I believe, main purpose of this book is simply a monster smut and it was delivered! For sure! It's fun, it's hot and it's passionate. I think autor may missed few opportunities, that Sol's abilities were offering (let's be honest, with two dicks there is plenty). And what I was missing was some proper cuddly, sweet, fluffy moments (I mean, they can't even kiss properly, what was somehow breaking my heart). But once again, smut was delivered. And it was delivered properly. Some drama of course.. it has it all, last thing I am going to say.. I just hate (like really hate!!!) rushed epilogues, but I will just leave it to autor as I understand they just want to give reader some better explanation and point at the future so.. yeah, I am willing to accept it. I mean, it's not the main part of the book so okay. According to length of this book, it's a good start if you are not sure monster romance is something you would enjoy. It took me about hour and a half read the book and then another hour when I was re-reading some parts. So it is really such an easy way to start with this genre. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Would I read it again? For sure! Is it the best what this genre can offer? Not entirely, but it's still pretty solid.
