I gave this book an 8 because for a book club book, it was long at 700 plus pages abd very complex.. That being said, it was beautifully written. Dr Verghese is a masterful writer. You are transported and drawn into this family saga, full of love, tragedy, politics, faith and change. I highly recommend audible, the author reads the story in a captivating voice. Its definately worth the time to experience the book and story.
This book is a beautiful and tragic story. I was hooked on the beautiful words from the beginning. With unexpected twist and turns, I cried many times. After 715 pages I didn't want it to be over.
