I had to DNF this one. I really enjoyed the “Old Man’s War” series and “Redshirts,” and really wanted to like this one as well, but it just didn’t work for me. Honestly, the writing is just plain juvenile. It works for “Redshirts.” It even works to an extent for “Old Man’s War.” But, at some point, you kind of expect an author to mature and grow as an artist and writer... “Collapsing Empire” definitely was not it.
