Okay so the book is so relevant and relatable. At first I thought Alix had good intentions and then I realized how off she was. It’s a great representation of white women I’ve met in my life. I was kinda disappointed she didn’t get this fairytale happy ending but I genuinely appreciated the realistic ending and how much sense it made in the end.
Love it, well written! Fantastic job, Ms, Reid!

NOTES
S: Cute read. I felt like I connected to the confusion of the main character intrying to find herself/love her early 20s.
T: Had higher expectations for this book. Didn't always understand why characters acted the way they did, and didn't love the end, but the read was overall fun enough.
J: Slightly below average for me, the ending really threw me off/made me upset and I had a hard time enjoying the main character.
B:
A captivating plot ending in subtle twists that give the reader a sense of satisfaction but the writing style was unappealing as it had choppy sentences and was lacking on the imagery
“Such a fun age” is such a bad book. The white woman is written much better than the black protagonist. Not to mention this book is shrouded in white guilt and doesn’t serve the back character at all. It’s not worth the time.
I don't even know how to explain this book. I understand the concept of race related relationships. But this just didn't flow good, I feel like peace's were missing. But it is a good conversation starter on the issue of race, in a book club setting. Alix was exhausting!
