I listened to this book on audio which caused a bit of confusion with the format. The format is from separate POV's that run two different timelines. It took me a while to figure out what the connection between the two was and after the story got clearer.
I like that we get to see where Ryber's story began. I've heard that you need to read this before Bloodwitch but after finishing this one I'm still uncertain how it'll connect back into the main Witchlands storyline.
I'll be starting Bloodwitch in a couple weeks and I can't wait to see how the story continues and how this one ties into it all.
