There's some good stuff in here.
There is something about Frost that makes me feel like I don't need twenty years in college to understand his poems. And I appreciate that. I want to enjoy poetry; I don't want to do a five minutes per line analysis every time I read a poem. This is also why I'm not going to get into what he was writing about and am only reviewing how I felt about it. There are people out there much, much smarter than me who do that sort of thing.
I may be in the minority here, but I loved (and generally preferred) the longer poems in this collection. Some read like beautiful stories and some were a little questionable (...perhaps slightly creepy would be a better way to describe them?) where my imagination was running wild. The imagery was wonderful in all the poems but in these longer ones especially.
A collection that I wanted to keep reading and that didn't make me want to stab my eyes out. That's a win in my book!
For, dear me, why abandon a belief
Merely because it ceases to be true.
Cling to it long enough, and not a doubt
It will turn true again, for so it goes.
Most of the change we think we see in life
Is due to truths being in and out of favour.
