Quick easy read, no brainer with laugh out loud moments. Two sittings.

My Hallmark Channel friends-to-lovers itch has been scratched. Shhhhhh... don't tell anyone...

I really enjoyed the characters and their unique quirks. Quirky can sometimes translate to contrived stupidity for an otherwise savvy character. But the main character was never insipid. The author deftly moved the primary relationship through deepening friendship in past and present. Told through a lens of vacations, it could be perceived as a limiting plot device. But all told, I could imagine a relationship that thrives beyond the vacation experience.

This was cute but I would not recommend it. The beginning was slow and I had to force myself to read it. I expected more details or funny stories about the people they met on vacation, I can only remember the one golden retriever energy couple they met on the final vacation trip Poppy and Alex took together to Alex's brothers wedding.

The UK book name is "You and Me On Vacation" makes much more sense.

I'm not a fan of people too afraid to express their true feelings for someone. So I felt like it was ten years wasted... especially the two years they didn't talk due to a really stupid reason. They knew they were in love, they got drunk and kissed, then didn't speak for two years and she almost lost him to another woman. It was kind of dumb in my opinion.

I'm glad they had their happy ending though.

One reviewer (Yun) said it best; romance stories are so personal that what works for one doesnt necessarily work for another. And I also agree with her statement that we are drawn to stories we relate to and speak our love language.

This book was not it for me. I found it dragged too long in nonsensical banter that didnt connect us to their inside jokes and was painfully long. I'm not sure why a 360 page book would be a "beach" read because this book carried none of the qualities of an easy vacation read. The title is also misleading.
