What a delightful in-your-face woman empowering romp this was!
Super quick summary:
Girls are not getting their periods anymore because they are required to drink water that has hormones in it that stop them from getting their period. I'd go into more detail, but I don't want any poor men reading this to start cringing, gagging, or feeling personally attacked.
Adolescent girls not getting their periods is quite the relief because otherwise they are going to turn into ferocious panthers that attack and/or eat men/boys.
Yum. Yum.
Maude is twelve and is everything I want a young lady to be - smart, independent, and sporting a kitty ear cap. She lives with her father and there is this sweet dynamic between the two of them that I can't wait to see more of in the next volumes.
The format to this is amazing and is a feast for the eyes, full of ads with real photos, magazine insert mimics, and faux textbook pages. Not to mention the whole thing is so smart and hilarious (and sad when you think of why it is hilarious).
