Made me care a lot more about the criminal justice system and the lack thereof. Systemic and institutionalized racism is so transparent after reading this book.
Just Mercy is just as brutal as I was afraid it would be. It's worthwhile, important, and will raise a deep anger inside of you unless you're callous or you're not paying attention. It's a bit dry and there can be an overload of information, so you might need to take it in parts since it covers many different cases. It's a wonderful book that my child read in high school and urged me to read so we could discuss it.
Remarkably heartfelt and personal. Great introduction book if you're looking to learn about American institutional racism.
