Letters On Paper

Greetings! Thank you for stopping by. Now that you're here… hmmm ..can I get you to stay lol?
WelI I can tell you a little about myself and why I created this club. So the reason why this group is called " Letters on Paper" is because I barely use to read. Whenever someone would tell me about a book… I would have this confused look on my face (purposely) and then I would ask them " is that letters on paper "? l'm a very sarcastic person. I'm also very laid-back and if you're looking for perfect grammar, then this ain't it lol. Now I can tell you a little bit about how I began reading books again. I was renovating/creating my home office during the pandemic and I purchased these cute books that are just for decor from Etsy. One day I decided to actually read one of the books (White Fur) and then I got hooked.I loved being lost in a story and enjoyed the stress relief from day to day life.
I love sci-fi, fantasy, true crime, history and a bunch of other random things. I love reality TV (I can proudly admit this). Now I replenish the brain cells that I've lost from trash TV with random books. Okay, truthfully I still enjoy watching trash but I figure reading books will balance out the brain cell action going on lol. So if you're looking for a fun group that's going to be laid back with a side of randomness... then please join! We are so fortunate to have the tech ability to connect with new people that we would have never had a chance to meet. There is no specific genre for this book club. All suggestions are welcomed! We will meet virtually. Once we have at least 8 members we can start. Congrats if you've made it this far by reading this. If I haven't scared you off then I hope to hear from you!

I Am Watching You

An Amazon Charts bestseller.

What would it take to make you intervene?

When Ella Longfield overhears two attractive young men flirting with teenage girls on a train, she thinks nothing of it--until she realises they are fresh out of prison and her maternal instinct is put on high alert. But just as she's decided to call for help, something stops her. The next day, she wakes up to the news that one of the girls--beautiful, green-eyed Anna Ballard--has disappeared.

A year later, Anna is still missing. Ella is wracked with guilt over what she failed to do, and she's not the only one who can't forget. Someone is sending her threatening letters--letters that make her fear for her life.

Then an anniversary appeal reveals that Anna's friends and family might have something to hide. Anna's best friend, Sarah, hasn't been telling the whole truth about what really happened that night--and her parents have been keeping secrets of their own.

Someone knows where Anna is--and they're not telling. But they are watching Ella.

This was a quick and easy read that took me longer to read just because of my busy schedule. I liked the premise and found it fascinating to think through the idea of personal responsibility. Am I responsible to warn someone if I think their behavior or actions are going to lead them into trouble? Just how involved should a stranger get into the lives of others? I like books that make me think and ponder how I would respond, and this book definitely did that.

I also liked how the author kept the ending a surprise, too. This was pretty well-written, and I would be game to try other books by this author.

What an amazing read!

I don't normally read fictional books but for some reason this one stood up to me and I bought it. I read this book in 2 days since my family was home sick. It was riveting and the end left me in tears. The way it's written makes you feel like you know these people and that you can relate to them because of their depth. They make mistakes. They aren't perfect. They're just normal people trying to do the best they can and trusting and loving where they can. Every parent needs to learn to let go of their children a little bit and knowing that the world is a dangerous place but trusting that their child will have to figure things out. I'm going to be recommending this book to quite a few of my friends and family members. It's very worth the read and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.
