I understand the meaning of tropes, cliches, and redos. If they are done right and uniquely, they can work. They might even appear fresh. But this rinse and repeat is so overly done I felt sick reading it.
Poor girl Evie, with massively low self esteem, struggles to make ends meet. She bombs an interview with a wealthy, good-looking boss and is left to figure out the rest of her life. One evening, she so happens to come across the man that interviewed her in a fight, who does nothing other than stand there (where he could obviously see her for... reasons) with a champagne bottle. He is so grateful he hires her. She did nothing but hold a bottle over her head.
Then they fall madly in love. The end.
There is one part I just couldn't... the whole "Pretty Woman" part. Masha (Misha's twin sister) takes Evie clothes shopping, (because of course) and it's all on Misha. Evie admits she doesn't hold a candle to Misha's looks because she's average. But of course, she's not, right? She's dolled up and drop-dead gorgeous. Masha tells her that Misha actually likes her, for reasons he can't possibly know since they haven't spent that much time together. Apparently, Evie is funny, but I haven't seen any part where that is true. She's honest, even though she's been trying to sell Misha out for her own gains. And good (see previous line). And, something I missed, I guess, Evie is the closest person Misha has, even though they met a week ago and have only talked in the office aside from the champagne bottle incident.
Evie has no personality. Misha seems to be going through a mid-life crisis. He's always in painted on skinny jeans (at late 20s-early 30s??).
Gemma is honestly the only good thing throughout and she's just a side character.
I'm sorry, but this was a pass for me. It was predictable and cringy.
