Our hearts are made up of all different broken pieces that belong to others, and when we find the right one, they show us how they can all fit together again

I think I understand some of yall's fascination with single dads.

The start of this book could have been from a thriller book, it was odd how Sadie decided to fit herself into Birdie's life after a letter - and she went to all extents for it. Initially I thought it could be because of some past trauma/incidents but it's weird how even the way Birdie and Sadie's mother passed away was from the same illness. The coincidences were too many and it was starting to appear fake to me.

But Sebastian is a man who definitely reserved his best side for the women in his life. He only let his guard down to Sadie after Amanda's passing and I liked how he wanted to include Birdie in his discussions/conversations with Sadie even before they became a family. It's not often you see fathers being sensitive to emotions and I think it is a good trait to cultivate in a family. His clinginess to Sadie was also so cute:
I don't want to shower so I can keep your smell all over me
can you imagine a 36 year old doing this? I also liked their intimacy, Sadie mentioned to Sebastian:
I wanted to eat naked in bed with you
and I associate this with comfort and trust in a person. My bf and I do this and I'm surprised he still can eat pizza in bed while my fat rolls are on display Physical chemistry is important, very important in relationships and Sadie-Sebastian suited each other well.

The beginning is one of the main causes for the rating because like I mentioned, fate doesn't play such a big part in lives (maybe my opinion of this might change one day) but it was becoming fake. There were also some empty plot lines like how did Amanda-Sadie and the ending did seem a little abrupt because it didn't tie the story together properly but it was just concluded. Despite the plot, Sebastian-Sadie did not leave a mark that would make me remember them. It felt mostly like a light movie on Netflix.

If I have something to praise though it would be the plot twist at the end, I did not see that coming. Instead of a miscommunication/fight at the end, the book gave something else. I think I'd prefer this type of plot twists to fights that don't make any sense.

Honestly just go read it, it's so good🤍🤍. But if you don't like when kids are mainly involved in a book as well then it's probably not for you.🥺
