Hang the Moon: A Novel

Our group liked this book somewhat less than Walls' previous books, but thought it was an interesting story. There were a lot of dramatic twists (usually a character's death) which served to move the narrative forward. We enjoyed the strong resolve of Sallie over the course of the novel. Some members even recalled stories of moonshiners from their own families!

Loved, loved, loved this book! So entertaining and taught me a little bit more about this time period. Sallie Kincaid is a bad ass! The Glass Castle is one of my favorite books ever. I think I need to read every book this author writes.

This book was chock full of tragedy and twists, some of which I found unnecessary to the plot line. Sallie is a strong character, but some of her decisions didn't make sense. The ending was anti-climactic given the rest of the book. Overall it was an ok book.

Very entertaining novel about Prohibition and moonshiners.

Set in the 20s. Strong female role. Frustrating the suppression of females.
