Driving in the Dark: A short story

some creative turns of phrase and illustrious metaphors here and there, but pretty run-of-the-mill otherwise. while the twist isn't necessarily predictable, it's also not that surprising or thematically fulfilling either. pretty good characterisation of Riley, lacklustre for Emma. the story loses steam slowly as it progresses, but the first chapter or so is quite immersive.
