Nick and Zora were childhood friends until Nick abruptly left one day. He returned after a 12-year absence, determined to make amends and reclaim Zora.

This book had many tropes such as childhood friends to lovers, second chance, one bed, inter-racial relationship.

I have to say that the main feature of this book was the longing and tension between them. They were like two magnets that's going to get attracted to one another anytime soon. They were that couple who spend lazy days in bed and get up at 2pm to have "breakfast". It seemed sweet and natural for them to be around one another.

There was a lot of emphasis on Zora and Nick's professions in this book. Although it was okay at first, I found some chapters to mainly focus on just that. So I skipped past it all. And the miscommunication plot, yet again. It's so simple to just talk it out and I don't know why the characters just won't! Which is why the 2 stars.

But, Zora and Nick tried their best to be each other's better ones again. I liked that Nick was constantly trying to make things better and be the right partner for Zora. This book showed that Nick was the one who loved Zora more and man that's cute for my ovaries. As compared to other books, this book's friends and the people around them seemed to play an important part in pushing the two back together. And it wasn't unbearable.

Overall, a cute second chance romance. 12 years is a long time for people to find others but Zora and Nick didn't and they found their way back to one another.
