Avatar: The Last Airbender The Art of the Animated Series (Second Edition)

Even a Kyoshi Warrior can find herself in trouble. Suki is captured by the Fire Nation and brought to the Boiling Rock, a grim prison in the middle of a dormant volcano. Separated from Team Avatar and her Kyoshi Warrior sisters, she decides to build her own community among other prisoners. But it's going to take more than an encouraging word to build trust among so many frightened people. Suki will need to draw on all her resources to do it, and even that might not be enough. Enjoy all-new material from Faith Erin Hicks (The Nameless City; The Adventures of Superhero Girl) and Peter Wartman (Stonebreaker), with colors by Adele Matera. Written in consultation with original series writer Tim Hedrick!

Ever since I was little, Suki was one of my absolute favorite characters. She and Asami (Legend of Korra) are so incredible and skilled in their representation of nonbending women. As my top two characters in this universe, I was so excited for this comic to come out! I preordered it months ago and it arrived on the 30th of July.
I thought the story was excellent! A great way to show just how Suki was doing at Boiling Rock. I enjoyed the way Faith Erin Hicks displayed *spoilers ahead* some of the trauma in Suki towards the ending, teaching her that not everyone can be trusted just because they appear to be in your same situation. My only note would be that personally, I would’ve liked it to be a little longer. That’s how much I enjoyed! Like I said- Suki’s a fav!
