Wow, this book was a quick read for me. While I didn't read it all in one sitting, but I did finish it all within 24 hours!
I want to start off by qualifying some of my Goodreads bookshelves. Is 1958 old enough to be considered "historical fiction"? I'm not sure, but I feel like yes! I've also tagged this as "mythical-beings" and "paranormal" because the book discusses Vampires, but never really confirms if they're real or not.
All These Bodies is the latest from Kendare Blake, and she kills it (literally). In the summer 1958 a gruesome killer plagues the Midwest, leaving behind a trail of bodies completely drained of blood. The book revolves around Michael Jensen, an aspiring journalist whose father happens to be the town sheriff, and Marie Catherine Hale, a mystery girl found at the scene of the most crime. When Marie decides to only confess to Michael, it falls to him to record and dissect her tale.
Blakes weaves together a fascinatingly gruesome story that is not for the feint of heart. You'll be spooked and bewildered and unable to take your eyes off of the page. In true cold-case fashion, it's up to you to decide what to believe.

Well, this was unexpectedly delightful. Ironic, considering the thrilling content. I finished this pretty much in one sitting (two, actually) I was SO interested in where the story was going. My favorite is the writing and how Michael told his story - it dropped little hints of where things where going and how it would end.
I kind of dislike the ending - because it feels... unresolved? However, I also believe that is how it's meant to be, so we are able to think about whether or not what was said is true or not.
Defiantly recommend for those true crime and thriller lovers out there.
(also, true crime followers will recognize a few other famous (or infamous?) crimes mentioned.)
