OMG, where do I even start. I have never read about love in the way that bell hooks writes about love. The flow of the book is so smooth and really dives into love in a deeper way. It discusses topics like parenting, lovelessness, manhood, spirituality and more; all in the context of love. Some topics were unexpected, but so appreciated and beautiful to read about. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this read. It is one that I will keep and reread until the end of time. I now look at love in a completely new way.

NOTES
S: I enjoyed Hooks theories for the most part. At times the writing was a litle too flowery for my preference.
T: Very verbose and sometimes repetitive, but interesting takes on different kinds of love and how they show up in our lives.
J: Average book, but thoughtful about how and why we love. I think everyone should read it to become more intrpsective, but I didn't always enjoy the process
