3.5* This is probably my least favorite book in the series it was slow and not much happened but tbh I’m mostly rating it lower bc if the awful rape scene with Matt not because it happened but rather bc of the tone in which it was handled and the reaction from Elayne and others the fact she would actually laugh at him really disgusted me. Up until she laughed at him I thought the tone problem was mostly just Matts way of laughing off his problems and that it was the characters POV making light of the issue rather than the authors voice, we never get to see nyneaves reaction other than she disapproves of it, seeing Elayne treat it as some kind of karma that he deserved was just too much I don’t know if this situation will remedy itself later as his character develops and he deals with this Trauma or not at the very least I hope it is not used as humor and is taken as seriously as it should be
