Joshua Henkin is an award-winning author of many novels, his most recent being Morningside Heights. It is an engrossing and compassionate exploration of a family facing hardship, as well as “about the love between women and men, and children and parents, about the things we give up in the face of adversity, and about what endures when life turns out differently from what we thought we signed up for.” Don’t miss out on our conversation with Henkin where we’ll discuss this highly-praised novel.

Henkin received his B.A. from Harvard University and his M.F.A. from the University of Michigan. He is now the director of the M.F.A. program in Fiction Writing at Brooklyn College in New York. His other works include Matrimony and The World Without You

Among the many positive reviews of Morningside Heights, Heller McAlpin described his novel in the Wall Street Journal as a “richly textured family portrait that feels deeply familiar yet profoundly moving and illuminating. As in the best fiction, you come away from Morningside Heights reluctantly—attached to its characters and with new understanding of what it is to be a feeling person dealing with life’s unpredictability . . . His book succeeds not by dint of dazzling language or narrative sleight of hand, but by his unwavering empathy, which leads him to create remarkably real, complex characters."
