Nancy: "I just finished my book club book when I decided to pick this up. Do you ever crave the voice of your favorite writer? Joan Didion is that writer for me. I return to her again and again. This recently published collection of essays is emblematic of Didion's style -  a no-nonsense, detached gaze that doesn't sacrifice heart. Like all her work, it's just so good. If you enjoyed Jia Tolentino's Trick Mirror or Ernest Hemingway's A Moveable Feast, you will like this!"

Annabel: "Detransition, Baby is a provocative and intimate account of the lives of three people, transgender and cisgender, brought together by an unexpected pregnancy. Torrey Peters’ characters are deeply developed and also undeniably flawed, making them feel so real. This thought-provoking novel will have you thinking about it long after you turn the last page."

Carrie: "Death on the Nile is a Christie classic! Romance, revenge, an international group of travelers…all against the backdrop of 1930s Egypt. What more could you ask for?! Interesting fact: Agatha Christie could not stand her Poirot character and her hatred only grew over time. In 1930, she found him “insufferable” and by 1960 she referred to him as a “detestable, bombastic, tiresome, ego-centric little creep.” Whoa, sick burn Christie!!"

Olivia: "Where the Apricots Bloom is a moving and suspenseful novel about friendship, family and the complexities of trust. It is a really great historical fiction novel that is based on the many real families that had to face difficult decisions to survive Hussein's regime."

Erica: "I picked up Joan Didion’s The Last Thing He Wanted at a used bookstore and dove in this week (even though it’s an extracurricular title from my current book club reads!). I’ve always admired Didion’s essays and nonfiction (The Year of Magical Thinking will be on my list of top books for a long time), so I’m excited to read fiction from her. And to watch the Netflix film adaptation once I finish the book!"
